yeah, i'm fine. aletheia, nicole,shirin and jeremy, who were in my car at that time are fine too.
I thank God for keeping us safe and just protecting us in his arms.
so this is the story.
after an amazing service in G2, (good job annie, it was awesome! =D) me, shirin, aletheia, and nicole headed out to KK to pick up jeremy. we headed to becky's house, in damansara, for anton's birthday party. shirin said she had a GPS *shudder* so we decided to use to get to becky's house. aaandd that's when it all went bad.
the GPS led us to a pretty much the middle of nowhere. halfway through we realised that something must be wrong,because I don't remember having to drive through jungles to get to Damansara. So we switch the destination to The Curve (which is near becky's house). Shirin used that same coordinates before so it should work right? right?
well, it did in a way. it told me to keep driving straight, then turn right. and turn right again. oh and it said 76 km to curve. and that's when you know that you're really really really far away. by that time we were at Kuala Kubu Baru. which is hell far away from Damansara. so we followed the sign boards which said KUALA LUMPUR. so it should be the right way right?
well it was. except that it lead me though some forest. it was a two lane road. with absolutely no lights at all. so I reached a curve in the road. and then suddenly ZOMG! there's a lamp post in front of me! so I slammed on the brakes and turned my steering wheel left as much as I can.
picture is for illustration purposes only. |
so basically, I went up that triangle thingy down on the road then up again on a divider. those low ones with grass, not the metal ones, or I would be dead. so, the road I was on apparently had two lanes, one to turn left and one to go straight. but the line was faded so I couldn't even see it. it was pitch black darkness up to that one light so I thought left was the only way to go. oh and i think i drifted before i hit the curb (which shows that my awesomeness is even apparent in dire situations).
thinking back about it, I realised that;
- if i hadn't turned the wheel enough, I would have rammed straight into that lamp post and that probably wouldn't end well
- if i had tuned the wheel too much, my car would have flipped when i hit the curb. which also wouldn't end well.
so basically, what i'm trying to say is that, somehow, I managed to get the angle just right. enough so that i won't crash into the lamp post, but not enough to flip. and THAT is only possible with God's help. thank you god.
I crashed in a place called Taman Tasik Teratai, in between the road from Batang Kali to Rawang. Yes, I have never heard of these places before either. shows how far away from civilization I was. also being in the middle of nowhere, it was kinda hard to get help. but I thank God for putting people in my life, who came all the way there to save me. Thank you guys =D.
I went to make a police report after that, and man, that took ages. I was probably in there for 3 hours. and after that extremely boring wait, I got out with a RM200 fine. only reached home at 4am after getting my car to the workshop and all that. I crashed at 9-ish btw.
so yeah, that's basically it.
lessons I learnt;
- do not blindly follow your GPS in Malaysia.
- do not sign anything when you get out of the car. (had to pay RM550 to transfer the car. sigh.)
- do not boast about being uncrashable (because it will bite you back, hard.)
- when lost, do not hesitate to ask for help, and not assume you have everything under control.
- do wear your seatbelt all the time, because accidents can happen anywhere, anytime.
so once again, i'm fine guys. i only got a tiny scratch. everyone else is fine. thanks for caring and being concerned.
pictures of my car is here
i don't have any pictures of the crash site yet, but i'll post it up when i get them.
that's it guys, peace out.
i thank god for his hand of protection over me, keeping me from harm and taking care of me when i need him the most. i thank god for giving me people who ran to my side the moment i needed help. i thank god for keeping me alive. amen.
